What's in a name? |
"Winnipiseogee" is the Native American name for Lake Winnipesaukee, which was the most common named used by the earliest New Hampshire English settlers. The most popular translation of the name is "Smile of the Great Spirit". |

How did Weirs Beach get its name? |
Weirs Beach got its name from the native Indians. A long time ago, natives built a basket, call a weir, to catch fish (Shad) that migrated through the Weirs channel. The constant use of the weirs in the channel led to the name Weirs Beach. |

Thurston's Marina is dedicated to helping you enjoy Lake Winnipesaukee the way it was meant to be enjoyed...on the water!! - All reservations are subject to availability.
- A boat style of equal or greater value may be substituted, if available, with out further notice.
- Reasonable attempts will be made to accommodate requested model of boat, however, due to unforeseen conditions we may be forced to change the style boat requested to a different style boat. Should this occur and it is not satisfactory with you a full refund of the deposit paid will be made in the same manner it was received without a cancellation charge.

If you do not have a Boating license we can administer a Pass/Fail exam for a 14 day temporary license. There is a $20 fee.
- Minimum Age: 21
- Rental Dept Hours:
9:00 AM to 5:00 PM
- Reservations are encouraged but only allowed for full days
- Major Credit Cards Accepted In Person
- Money Order required for reservations unless made in person
- Reservations require $295 deposit
- All reservations are subject to availability.
- A boat style of equal or greater value may be substituted by Thurston's, if available, with out further notice
- Reasonable attempts will be made to accommodate requested model of boat, however, due to unforeseen conditions we may be forced to change the style boat requested to a different style boat. - Late Return Fee: $100 per half hour
- Cancellations Charge - $ 80 and 24 hours notice required.
